Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough

As foul as it sounds Theft and I have always thought about this day and what it would be like when Mike does die. Not that we wished death on MJ but we just imagined the global impact made if he was to pass. It’s one of those “What If” conversations that you have with your friends. Like what if “Michael Jordan” used steroids? or what if “Nas” had a ghostwriter for Illmatic? After all the allegations I feel like America turned there back on MJ. Read the rest of this entry »

E3 introduces DJ HERO
Posted by Leroy Brown in Technology, Video Games on June 11th, 2009
The 2009 E3 expo convention took place in Los Angeles California . For those who are not familiar with E3, its a convention where top video game makers exhibit the latest before it hits the market. This year Activision the creators of Guitar Hero showcased DJHERO. Being a disc jockey has always been a childhood dream of mine. So DJ HERO is definitely on the agenda this coming fall in October. If heavy pocket holders like Jay Z and Eminem are behind it than it has to be good money. Dj Hero will be available for (PlayStation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii). Duck Down Records Signs Team Facelift!
WTF?! That was my first expression when I saw this video. Duck Down records (Boot Camp Click/Smiff & Wessun/Heltah Skeltah/etc.) , a label that is considered to be one of the best of the mid-90’s classic scene, collaborating with Team Facelift (Machine/The Fat Jew/Karim Fonda), that to me is sort of a MTV generation group. I have been keeping my eye on Team Facelift ever since I saw The Fat Jew, trust me you will too. That dude definitely caught my attention. You could call them a “shock” group just from watching there videos and pictures but if you give it a listen these “white” dudes from New York can rap. Even though good raps may be evident I don’t think anyone could have seen this coming.

Won’t The Real Slim Shady Please Sit Down…
This, my good people, is a day and age when, if you ain’t bashin’…you ain’t cool buddy! So, I guess I’ll get cool and just…let it rain.
Now, there was a time not long ago, when I would much rather scour my ass with steel whool than say what I’m about to say. But, in all fairness, who better to shout judgmental words at the great Eminem than me, a longtime fan. Aside from my respect for what he’s done and the progress he’s made, I’d think it’s safe to say, his time as a performer has come and gone. If it were up to me, Marshall Mathers LP would have been his last album! Don’t get me wrong, he’s had quite a few excellent tracks since, but nothing like the vibes and lyrically driven tracks on Slim Shady LP. The damn album is a classic, that goes beyond saying. My favorite track was “Just Don’t Give A Fuck” which was actually a remake of its EP original. I remember thinking, this dude is untouchable and that was by no means an understatement. Mos Def Coming With The Ecstatic
Posted by Leroy Brown in Hip-Hop, Music on June 3rd, 2009
Mr. Casa Bey is dropping his fourth album on June 8th. Just by listening to the album snippets I see that Mos laid off the singing and came back on full throttle with the rhymes, thank God. Read the rest of this entry »
